Kumar Sangakkara (born 27 October 1977 in Matale, Sri Lanka) is a member and former captain of the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team. He is a first-class left-handed batsman.He is a first-class left-handed batsman.Although he used to play as a wicket-keeper and first-class batsman, his batting changed significantly with his retirement from Test cricket.At several points in his playing career, he became the No. 1 Test batsman in the world He stepped down from the captaincy following his defeat against India at the World Cup.Sangakkara has scored the most Test double centuries in the world after Donald Bradman.He scored his eleventh Test double century on 4 January 2015 against New Zealand in Wellington, New Zealand.
